There are a few alternatives available, but we have been recommending the Emizon 21 Dual Path Communicator to our clients. Police Changing Response Instructions

After many years of deliberation the N.S.W Police have put in place new regulations regarding how and when they will respond to alarm system activations. We will publish the complete document on our web site, as soon as we make sense of it, how ever in brief the police will be contacted in accordance with the following schedules:
Schedule One: Urgent Alarm Line Calls for Life Threatening Situations
Schedule Two: Non Urgent Calls for Verified Alarm attendance with a key holder.
Schedule Three: Alarms which must not be given to Police unless Verified Crime In Progress
Schedule Four: Information to be provided to police.
There is a need to clarify the response instructions for all monitored clients as a number have ‘ If no key holder available send police’. This instruction is no longer possible. It is now imperative that clients provide additional key holders who are willing to attend to an alarm callout. Alternatively you can nominate, ‘if no Key holders available, send Patrol.’ Patrol response fee is not included in your monitoring fee,and generally our customers can nominate a prefferred Patrol Company or we can arrange one.
In the circumstances where police are called there will be a fee charged by the police which would be passed onto the client. Central Monitoring have recently had a client fined $200 for attendance to a false alarm as above your call out instructions need to be updated urgently.

Has your alarm been tested lately

. Alarm systems need regular checks performed on them and this can be done initially by yourself. If your alarm goes back to base you’ll need to tell your base before and after you test. If you find any sensor no longer covering as effectively as it used to or as you expected, contact our office for a service call. We have found a lot of split batteries from this past summers electrical storms. Some system are not indicating the
faulty batteries as they should so you should have your batteries checked if you have any concerns, contact our office to have it replaced.

Check Your Smoke Sensors

Customers should remember to check their smoke sensors. Most sensors have a test button, but you can get a can of ‘Test Smoke’ from us. The batteries should be changed if you haven't already.
